Here I am giving Lady a treat. We are big on daily treats, and our vet told us how quickly she gained weight from them. Now I have been adjusting both girls’ Lady and Peanut’s food and snacks (Peanut is our white dog beside me). Both of our little dogs are 13 years old as of March 26, 2012. Like us the older they get the harder it is to trim them down. For quality of their life I am determined to get a handle on those extra pounds and the people who love them!!
Often a visitor to our home is ChocoKitty, we are unsure where she lives and we on occasion feed her. Now I do not feed her but make sure their is water our for her instead. She was obviously someones pet as she was well feed. Pet Pudge
The obesity epidemic is spreading: Over half of all cats and dogs are now to heavy. The causes are to many sweets from treats which are starting to have added sugar, says Ernie Ward, D.V.M. founder of the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention.
To much food and to little exercise leads to this epidemic. How do you help your pet from packing on pounds? Avoid goodies with sugar including sucrose, dextrose and fructose listed as one of the first three ingredients, Dr. Ward says.
